About Second Grade

What Second Grade is

Second Grade is a complete Grade 2 program for families and teachers. It gives you daily lessons in math, reading and writing, science, social studies and specials, planned across 36 weeks and 180 days. Every lesson comes with a practice page, every week has short checks, and each unit ends with a test and a scoring guide. Records, checklists and planning forms help you keep track of what your child has learned.

How it's built

The program is research-based and standards-aligned. The daily routines, review and checks follow what studies say helps young children learn and remember, and you can read about each one on Why This Works. Lessons are matched to the national frameworks most state standards are built on, and there is a guide for every state on Your State that shows how the year lines up with your state's standards.

Who publishes it

Second Grade is published by SecondGrade.com. We write the lessons, practice pages and records with care, and we keep improving them as families tell us what works at their kitchen table.

There are no accounts and no sign-in. Open a lesson and start. Your progress is saved only in your own browser, on your own device.
