Hands-on weather log and observation pages aligned to 2-ESS1 and 2-PS1. Use them to practice measuring, recording, and explaining patterns.
Record the sky, temperature, and wind each day for a week.
Columns: Date · Sky (sunny / cloudy / rainy / snowy) · Temperature (°F) · Wind (none / light / strong) · One sentence about the weather. At the end of the week, circle the day with the warmest temperature.
Sketch three clouds you see today and name each shape.
Use the cloud key: cumulus (puffy), stratus (flat sheets), cirrus (wispy). Add the date, time, and the season under each sketch.
Sort 6 small objects by 2 properties (hard/soft, smooth/rough, etc.).
Make a 2-column chart. List the property at the top of each column. Write the object name and one observation: 'The bottle cap is hard and smooth.'
Measure your bean plant every two days for 10 days.
Record the date and the height in centimeters. Sketch the plant once a week. After 10 days, write one sentence about the pattern you saw.
