ELA Unit 1 Test: Launching Readers & Writers Workshop

    Directions for the grown-up

You may read the directions for every section aloud. In Reading Comprehension, you may read the questions and answer choices aloud, but not the story: your child reads the story on their own. In Phonics & Word Study and Language Skills, read only the directions. Do not read the words or sentences in the items, because reading them is the skill being checked. In Narrative Writing, read the prompt aloud. You may remind your child to spell words the best they can, but do not spell words for them. Short breaks between sections are fine.
